WHAT IT IS: A place to post one-time and repeating events (such as meetings and vacations). Keep in mind that the calendar is public, and any event you post will be seen by all members of the web group.
HOW TO GET THERE: Click on Calendar or (expand calendar) on My Desktop (Figure 5-4), or select Calendars from the Resources drop-down menu (Figure 5-5).

The default calendar view shows the full month, but you can change this to show one week at a time or one day at a time by clicking on the week or day links embedded in the dark blue bar across the top of the screen (Figures 5-6 through 5-8).

You can apply filters to reduce the amount and type of information shown on the calendar.
To view only certain kinds of events:
To view only events posted by a specific member:
You can select from both menus then click on apply filter to view only events meeting both criteria.

All members can add events to the calendar or edit existing events, including those posted by other members. To add an event to the calendar:

Root users and administrators can add and remove event types and calendars.

To edit or remove an event type:

NOTE: Deleting an event type removes the event type from the add event pop-up window and the View drop-down menu, but does not remove events of that type from the calendar.

To delete a calendar:
NOTE: Deleting a calendar also deletes all events posted to that calendar. There is no way to recover these events after the calendar is deleted.
NOTE: You cannot delete the Main calendar.
