WHAT IT IS: A place to enter information about this web group.

HOW TO GET THERE: Click on the About Us tab (Figure 3-1) in the menu bar.

HOW IT WORKS: All members can add and edit information about this web group. The information can include text, tables, and graphics. Root users and administrators can enable comments, which allows all members to post comments to About Us and view comments posted by other members.

3.1 Adding or Editing Content

To add content to or edit About Us:

1. From the About Us page (Figure 3-2), select Edit This Page from the ---Select an Option--- drop-down menu (Figure 3-3).

2. Use the main edit window (Figure 3-4) to enter text and tables and import graphics. When done, click on Save.

NOTE: About Us uses the Xinha text editor. For help using the text editor, click on . For information about the Xinha text editor and to go to the Xinha web site, click on .

3.2 Posting a Comment

NOTE: Only root users and administrators can enable comments. To enable comments, select Enable Comments from the ---Select an Option--- drop-down menu (Figure 3-5). With comments enabled, all members can post comments to About Us and view comments posted by other members.

To post a comment to About Us:

1. From the About Us page, click on (View Comments) (Figure 3-6).

2. Enter your comment in the Post a Comment window (Figure 3-7), then click on Post Comment.

NOTE: Previous comments are shown below the Post a Comment window.

NOTE: Root users and administrators can delete comments by clicking on (delete comment).

3.3 Viewing Page History

To view and compare different versions of About Us:

1. Select View Content History from the ---Select an Option--- drop-down menu (Figure 3-8).

2. On the next screen (Figure 3-9), select the versions that you want to compare (in Figure 3-9, the initial version and the most recent version are selected), then click on Compare. Note the colors – the current version will be shown with a green background on the next screen and the initial version will be shown with an orange background.

3. The Compare screen (Figure 3-10) shows the selected versions of About Us. Click on Return to File Revision History to return to the previous screen.

4. From the Compare screen (Figure 3-9), click on Return to About Us to return to the main About Us screen.

3.4 Root User and Administrator Functions

In addition to enabling and deleting comments, root users and administrators can disable comments or make them read-only.

To make comments read-only, select Make Comments Read-Only from the ---Select an Option--- drop-down menu (Figure 3-11). Existing comments will be displayed, but members won't be able to post new comments.

To disable comments, select Disable Comments from the ---Select an Option--- drop-down menu (Figure 3-12). Existing comments won't be displayed and members won't be able to post new comments. (NOTE: Disable Comments doesn't delete comments, it only hides them. Enable Comments to see them again.)
